En el cas dels recobriments, l&#8217;aire es<br \/>\npot incorporar en el proc\u00e9s de barrejat durant la fase de m\u00f2lta entre el pol\u00edmer pl\u00e0stic i les c\u00e0rregues inorg\u00e0niques i els pigments, en la fase de desc\u00e0rrega, en els processos d&#8217;envasament mitjan\u00e7ant sistemes de bombament o b\u00e9, a causa de l&#8217;agitaci\u00f3 o canvis de pressi\u00f3 en les fases finals de pintat per corr\u00f3, brotxa o pistola.<\/p>\n<p>El control de la formaci\u00f3 d&#8217;escuma en el sector dels recobriments ha estat sempre un repte, ja que l&#8217;antiespumant ha de ser efectiu durant el proc\u00e9s de fabricaci\u00f3 i al mateix temps ha d&#8217;oferir una excel\u00b7lent efic\u00e0cia durant la vida \u00fatil del recobriment, que en molts casos \u00e9s llarga. A m\u00e9s, actualment les formulacions de recobriments han de complir amb estrictes regulacions ambientals que limiten per exemple la quantitat de compostos vol\u00e0tils (VOC i SVOC) que poden participar en processos fotoqu\u00edmics atmosf\u00e8rics i es considera que afavoreixen la formaci\u00f3 d&#8217;oz\u00f3 a nivell superficial\u00b9.<\/p>\n<p>Tradicionalment, els antiespumants utilitzats per a controlar la formaci\u00f3 d&#8217;escuma en aquestes aplicacions es basen en olis minerals l&#8217;origen dels quals \u00e9s el petroli. Aquests antiespumants s\u00f3n econ\u00f2mics i efectius, per\u00f2 s\u00f3n virtualment t\u00f2xics (en major o menor mesura en funci\u00f3 del tipus i origen de l&#8217;oli mineral utilitzat) i en molts casos contenen elevades quantitats de VOC i SVOC. Recentment, la Comissi\u00f3 Europea i pa\u00efsos com Alemanya han iniciat processos d&#8217;avaluaci\u00f3 del risc associat a aquests materials\u00b2\u00a0\u00b3\u00a0, generant la necessitat de declarar la pres\u00e8ncia d&#8217;olis minerals i olis minerals arom\u00e0tics (MOSH i MOAH) en multitud de productes alimentaris. Per aquesta ra\u00f3, la substituci\u00f3 d&#8217;aquests olis minerals per alternatives amb menor toxicitat, menors emissions, d&#8217;origen diferent al petroli i ambientalment m\u00e9s favorables \u00e9s un requeriment cada vegada m\u00e9s important.<\/p>\n<p>Segons dades recents proporcionades per la UE, actualment quatre de cada cinc consumidors europeus desitgen comprar productes m\u00e9s respectuosos amb el medi ambient. Sens dubte, els consumidors s\u00f3n avui m\u00e9s conscients que mai que la protecci\u00f3 del medi ambient \u00e9s fonamental. Una excel\u00b7lent font d&#8217;olis hidrof\u00f2bics biodegradables la trobem en els \u00e8sters d&#8217;origen vegetal, que s&#8217;obtenen mitjan\u00e7ant la reacci\u00f3 de trans- esterificaci\u00f3 de triglic\u00e8rids vegetals (olis vegetals) amb diferents alcohols. En aquest estudi s&#8217;han avaluat aquestes mat\u00e8ries primeres d&#8217;origen sostenible en la formulaci\u00f3 d&#8217;antiespumants lliures de compostos vol\u00e0tils (VOC), biodegradables i no t\u00f2xics per a recobriments i pintures amb emissions m\u00ednimes o exemptes d&#8217;emissions. Del mercat total de recobriments, m\u00e9s del 50% es consideren pintures arquitect\u00f2niques. Pintures per a parets, tant interiors com exteriors, sostres i fa\u00e7anes representen el major volum d&#8217;aquesta mena de pintures i, encara que el cost \u00e9s sempre un dels factors m\u00e9s importants, la voluntat de la ind\u00fastria d&#8217;oferir etiquetatges nets i de complir amb requeriments estrictes com el criteri Ecolabel guanyen cada vegada m\u00e9s import\u00e0ncia i inter\u00e8s. Segons la decisi\u00f3 2014\/312\/UE, 28 de maig de 2014\u2074, qualsevol ingredient\/substancia\/preparaci\u00f3\/barreja afegida intencionadament en la mat\u00e8ria primera ha de declarar-se. Aix\u00f2 inclou impureses i subproductes que estan presents en concentracions superiors al 0,010% en la mat\u00e8ria primera.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOVES SOLUCIONS PER Al CONTROL DE L&#8217;ESCUMA EN PINTURES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Presentem el nou antiespumant EMULTROL DFM OLV-24, el primer antiespumant d&#8217;una nova gamma de productes, dissenyat seguint els criteris de biodegradabilitat, baixa o nul\u00b7la toxicitat i baixes o nul\u00b7les emissions de components vol\u00e0tils (VOC i SVOC). Est\u00e0 basat en \u00e8sters vegetals que s&#8217;obtenen de manera sostenible i totalment lliure d&#8217;olis minerals tradicionals. El percentatge d&#8217;aire ocl\u00f2s es calcula mitjan\u00e7ant el mesurament de la densitat i la relaci\u00f3 entre aquest valor i la densitat inicial (picn\u00f2metre 100ml).<\/p>\n<p><u>Persist\u00e8ncia de l&#8217;efecte antiespumant<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Un altre par\u00e0metre a tenir en consideraci\u00f3 \u00e9s l&#8217;efectivitat de l&#8217;antiespumant a llarg termini, una vegada formulat en la pintura. \u00c9s molt important que l&#8217;antiespumant mostri una efectivitat elevada al llarg del temps per a garantir que la pintura presenti unes propietats \u00f2ptimes durant la seva vida \u00fatil. \u00c9s per aix\u00f2 que s&#8217;han desenvolupat assajos que simulen envelliments accelerats, en aquest cas, amb un assaig a 45 \u00b0C durant una setmana, en el dosatge del 0,2% d&#8217;antiespumant en la pintura. Seguidament, es reprodueix l&#8217;assaig d&#8217;efectivitat descrit anteriorment. En la figura 1 es detallen els resultats d&#8217;efectivitat i persist\u00e8ncia de l&#8217;efecte antiespumant del nou antiespumant EMULTROL DFM OLV-24 en cadascun dels pol\u00edmers estudiats. En tots ells, s&#8217;ha fet una comparativa amb un antiespumant de refer\u00e8ncia per a pintures arquitect\u00f2niques, basat en una dispersi\u00f3 de components hidrof\u00f2bics en un oli mineral.<\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Figura 1. En alguns casos, l&#8217;efectivitat virtualment no canvia amb el temps, amb el que es garanteix un efecte tant en el moment de la fabricaci\u00f3 de la pintura com en la seva aplicaci\u00f3 final.<\/p>\n<p>Destacar tamb\u00e9 que els assajos mostren que en la majoria de pol\u00edmers l&#8217;efectivitat del nou antiespumant EMULTROL DFM OLV-24 \u00e9s superior a la que s&#8217;aconsegueix amb l&#8217;equivalent basat en olis minerals.<\/p>\n<p><u>Compatibilitat de l&#8217;antiespumant<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Finalment, s&#8217;avalua la compatibilitat dels diferents antiespumants amb les diferents dispersions polim\u00e8riques, per a comprovar que a m\u00e9s d&#8217;una bona efectivitat tant inicial com envellida, l&#8217;antiespumant no ocasioni problemes d&#8217;humectaci\u00f3 tals com ulls de peix, cr\u00e0ters o pell de taronja que redundarien en una aplicaci\u00f3 deficient de la pintura. Per a aquesta fi, s&#8217;ha assajat una aplicaci\u00f3 d&#8217;una fina capa de 120 micres en suport de vidre. En la figura 2 es detallen resultats de compatibilitat del nou antiespumant EMULTROL DFM OLV-24 en 3 dels pol\u00edmers estudiats.<\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Figura 2. Una vegada agitats (1300rpm, 5min), s&#8217;observa la formaci\u00f3 d&#8217;escuma en els tres. Aquest efecte es mant\u00e9 a les 24h de l&#8217;assaig.<\/p>\n<p>Aquest resultat ens indica que \u00e9s sempre necessari avaluar no sols l&#8217;efectivitat antiespumant, si no tamb\u00e9 la seva persist\u00e8ncia i la seva compatibilitat, ja que en certes formulacions poden sorgir incompatibilitats. Aquest resultat \u00e9s conforme i en certa manera esperat, si considerem que l&#8217;antiespumant EMULTROL DFM OLV-24 est\u00e0 formulat amb components molt hidrof\u00f2bics i es considera un antiespumant apolar, recomanat en dosatges inicials (\u201cgrinding\u201d, molturat) i en pintures d&#8217;alt PVC.<\/p>\n<p>En qualsevol cas, no s&#8217;ha observat cap difer\u00e8ncia significativa en comparaci\u00f3 amb els resultats que s&#8217;obtenen utilitzant un antiespumant basat en olis minerals habituals.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>CONCLUSIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Es poden formular antiespumants lliures d&#8217;olis minerals, amb els avantatges que aix\u00f2 suposa, demostrant a m\u00e9s una excel\u00b7lent efic\u00e0cia antiespumant, una bona persist\u00e8ncia de l&#8217;efecte en la pintura i sense que es produeixin problemes de compatibilitat en l&#8217;aplicaci\u00f3 final de la pintura diferents als que es produeixen amb antiespumants hidrof\u00f2bics habituals.<\/p>\n<p>Aquests resultats s\u00f3n v\u00e0lids per a diferents pol\u00edmers habituals en el sector de les pintures arquitect\u00f2niques, en concret aquelles que utilitzen dispersions acr\u00edliques, estir\u00e8-acr\u00edliques i vinil-acr\u00edliques.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c9s possible substituir antiespumants basats en olis minerals per noves alternatives basades en olis d&#8217;origen vegetal, amb el que s&#8217;aconsegueix fer un pas endavant molt important per a l&#8217;obtenci\u00f3 de pintures amb menors emissions, sense hidrocarburs, amb additius biodegradables i amb un excel\u00b7lent resultat d&#8217;aplicaci\u00f3.<\/p>\n<p>En l<a href=\"http:\/\/www.concentrol.com\/cat\/blog_detall.php?not=381\">&#8216;article anterior<\/a>, vam poder observar com aconseguir la certificaci\u00f3 ecolabel en el sector pintures, en aquesta nou lliurament, s&#8217;han comparat amb els antiespumants tradicionals base oli.<\/p>\n<p>A Concentrol treballem cada dia per a millorar les nostres solucions qu\u00edmiques, adaptant-nos a les tend\u00e8ncies del mercat i a productes mediambientalment bons per al planeta.
