Por ello, cada vez m\u00e1s, tienen especial cuidado en la elaboraci\u00f3n de sus nuevas soluciones y en el efecto que estas pueden tener sobre el medio ambiente.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Como se ha demostrado a lo largo de una trayectoria vital dedicada al sector, <\/span><b>el poliuretano tiene muchas utilidades<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Tanto puede utilizarse para la confecci\u00f3n de recubrimientos y pinturas, para la conservaci\u00f3n de alimentos o como para el aislamiento y la construcci\u00f3n, entre otros. El PU es un material que cada vez se usa m\u00e1s debido a su efectividad, seguridad, ligereza y grandes cualidades de aislamiento, por ejemplo. Originariamente, para la fabricaci\u00f3n de espuma de poliuretano se empleaban los gases CFC, despu\u00e9s los HCFC y, a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, se pas\u00f3 a usar los HFC. El problema con todos estos agentes con base de fl\u00faor es que, pese a los avances que supon\u00edan cada uno de ellos para el sector, segu\u00edan siendo <\/span><b>nocivos por el medio ambiente<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Al estar constantemente estudiando el mercado, Concentrol ha detectado la necesidad de unos nuevos surfactantes de silicona necesarios para la fabricaci\u00f3n de espumas a partir de estos nuevos <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">blowing agents<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (agentes de espumaci\u00f3n) &#8211; HFO (hidrofluoroolefinas), el <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">blowing agent<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> llamado <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ecofriendly<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Por eso actualmente, despu\u00e9s de llevar a cabo una labor intensiva de I+D, se est\u00e1 fabricando y comercializando esta nueva gama de surfactantes. Estos productos ayudan a los productores de sistemas de poliuretano a fabricar soluciones de <\/span><b>mayor sensibilidad ecol\u00f3gica<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>HFO: \u00bfqu\u00e9 es y qu\u00e9 beneficios comporta?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El HFO es un <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">blowing agent<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> que se utiliza como agente de expansi\u00f3n para formar espuma de poliuretano. Forma parte de la cuarta generaci\u00f3n de refrigerantes y es un elemento de f\u00e1cil conversi\u00f3n, seguro y de bajo coste total. A diferencia del resto de <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">blowing agents<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> de estas caracter\u00edsticas, no son persistentes, bioacumulables ni t\u00f3xicos, no tienen ning\u00fan impacto sobre la capa de ozono y su uso supone un Potencial de Calentamiento Atmosf\u00e9rico (PCA) muy peque\u00f1o. Adem\u00e1s, cabe apuntar que la degradaci\u00f3n del HFO puede dar lugar al \u00e1cido trifluoroac\u00e9tico (TFA), que en las concentraciones actuales no afecta a la vida marina, a los humanos ni al medio ambiente. Tal y como explica <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sustainability.honeywell.com\/us\/en\/news-and-events\/news\/2020\/06\/the-environmental-benefits-of-hfos\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">un art\u00edculo de sostenibilidad de Honeywell<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, \u201chasta ahora, el uso de refrigerantes HFO y agentes de soplado han ayudado a evitar la liberaci\u00f3n de 170 millones de toneladas m\u00e9tricas de CO\u2082 a la atm\u00f3sfera, una cantidad equivalente a las emisiones de m\u00e1s de 35 millones de veh\u00edculos, casi todos los que hay con licencia en Reino Unido\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Todas estas caracter\u00edsticas lo convierten en la alternativa m\u00e1s viable de cara a la sostenibilidad y eficiencia energ\u00e9tica. Muchos estudiosos coinciden en que el HFO podr\u00eda ser, en un futuro no muy lejano, el sustituto de los HFC, por lo que Concentrol seguir\u00e1 apostando por tener soluciones adecuadas para su uso.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Las implicaciones de los surfactantes de silicona<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Uno de los inconvenientes m\u00e1s importantes a tener en cuenta a la hora de trabajar con el HFO tiene que ver con las degradaciones derivadas de su uso. En la capa de ozono, estos <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">blowing agents<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> pueden dar lugar a las siguientes dos reacciones qu\u00edmicas:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CH<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">= CFCF<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> + OH \u2014&gt; CF<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">COF + HCHO + H\u2082O + O<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CH<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">= CFCF<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> + + Cl \u2014&gt; CF<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">COF + HC(O)Cl + O<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> + CO<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En el caso concreto de los sistemas de PU, lo m\u00e1s com\u00fan es que el HFO desencadene la primera de estas reacciones, puesto que llevan bases (grupos OH).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La primera reacci\u00f3n qu\u00edmica da pie a la reacci\u00f3n n\u00famero tres, que es la siguiente:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CF<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">COF + H\u2082O \u2014&gt; CF<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">COOH + CO\u2082 + HF<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La reacci\u00f3n resultante, formada por <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CF<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">COOH<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> y HF, es lo que podr\u00eda suponer la degradaci\u00f3n de los surfactantes, puesto que pueden dar pie a un medio \u00e1cido y corrosivo de condiciones mucho m\u00e1s agresivas que los que tienen habitualmente. Si desea investigar m\u00e1s sobre este tema puede consultar el estudio \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.miljodirektoratet.no\/globalassets\/publikasjoner\/M917\/M917.pdf\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Study on environmental and health effects of HFO refrigerants<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d, de the Norwegian Environment Agency.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En el siguiente cuadro se puede ver de forma muy visual todos los HFO que existen en este momento, y los que acaban surgiendo despu\u00e9s de su descomposici\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-134597 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/concentrol.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"751\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hosting175685eu-cp704.wordpresstemporal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/3.png 751w, https:\/\/hosting175685eu-cp704.wordpresstemporal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/3-300x135.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 751px) 100vw, 751px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contrariamente a lo que algunas personas piensan, todos estos problemas de degradaci\u00f3n anteriormente mencionados acontecen cuando el surfactante est\u00e1 formulado con HFO durante varios d\u00edas y en sistemas cerrados, no en el momento de realizar la espuma in situ, un proceso que no suele generar problemas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aparte, tambi\u00e9n es habitual realizar estudios de envejecimiento para ver c\u00f3mo se comporta este <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">blowing agent<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> con el paso del tiempo. Para analizar el proceso de envejecimiento se efect\u00faan varios experimentos que pueden llegar a durar hasta dos semanas. En estas pruebas se usan temperaturas altas (50-60 \u00b0C), que sirven para simular un per\u00edodo m\u00e1s largo de tiempo. Con estos procesos se analiza si los surfactantes soportan la degradaci\u00f3n generada por el <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">blowing agent<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> HFO.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Las soluciones actuales de Concentrol<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El equipo de investigaci\u00f3n de Concentrol sigue focalizado en investigar surfactantes de todo tipo de aplicaci\u00f3n que traigan HFO.
