Sustainable innovation continues to be one of the key drivers of transformation within the chemical industry. In this context, Concentrol is participating in EMULCEL, a project developed in collaboration with the LEPAMAP-PRODIS research group at the University of Girona, focused on the investigation of new plant-based alternatives for industrial applications.
The initiative explores the potential of cellulose-based materials as an alternative to certain petroleum-derived products, promoting the development of more sustainable formulations aligned with the environmental and technological challenges facing the industry. The objective is to advance solutions capable of combining efficiency, performance and sustainability while maintaining the high technical standards required by today’s industrial applications.
The EMULCEL project has received support from ACCIÓ through the Nuclis R&D Green funding programme, designed to support innovation projects addressing climate-related challenges and promoting the development of more sustainable technologies and materials.
Beyond the development of new materials, EMULCEL also highlights the value of collaboration between industry, academia and applied research as a driver of innovation. The connection between scientific knowledge and industrial expertise helps accelerate the development of technologies with real-world impact, facilitating knowledge transfer and supporting the transition towards more responsible production models.
